"Nothing says Easter like a BEEF STICK"

This is what my friend said when I told her that I was buying Larry a beef stick for Easter. I really didn't think it was so strange until she said that and then all day the line kept running through my head.

Larry and Jewel have been in London since February 24 and they got back Friday night. I was excited to see them. So yesterday I took their Easter gifts over (I didn't wait until Sunday morning like you are supposed to - I'm not into surprises) and they came out wearing their new hoodies.

Me: Where did you get those?
Larry: From you
Me: Hmmm
Larry: Sandy gave them to us when she picked us up at the airport and said they were from all of you for our birthdays
Me: I'll be sure to give Sandy a few bucks ...

So this morning I've been pondering ...

When Larry and Jewel were on a mission in Mexico and then London, I got so used to not needing them in any way. Now when they leave for almost a month I really miss them. This got me wondering just how many more years I have with them - 73 isn't exactly young although Larry would disagree for sure.

All I can say is that I'm glad that because of who and what we celebrate on this day, these two will be my parents for a very long time - more than just a few more years.

NOTE: Pondering ... One of my favorite things about being single is Sunday mornings ... so nice and quiet with plenty of time to plan a lesson or a talk. The other thing I love is the sacrament - so reverent you can hear a cell phone vibrate.

I am right there with you!! My parents were gone for 10 days and I started panicking. p.s. The "Trouble" marathon continues. You are officially famous at our house. :)

I love to plan lessons Sunday morning. And eat long breakfasts. It's almost enough to make me like afternoon church.

That is such a cute picture of Larry and Jewel!! I miss them. We need to pay them a visit. We missed you on Sunday! We played Phase 10 for two hours & it wasn't the same without you.

I remember those single days on Sunday mornings. Wis I could have my cake and eat it too. But we certainly can't have it both ways. Now my Sunday mornings are filled with bathing, dressing little kids and packing what seems to be an exdless supply of necessary sacrament treats which always seem to run out and then I just end up in the foyer for half of the meetings. JOY. Can't wait to bring my kids again to the Bean and see you again. Car
