What is more scary? Rollercoasters or Scary Movies?

The other day Dan told me that I'm missing out on a big part of life because I don't like roller coasters. I told him that I was missing out on a lot of big parts of life but roller coasters is not one of those that I'm all that concerned about.

I know many people who would way rather ride a scary ride than watch a scary movie.

Not me, I do not like to physically feel like I am going to die. I rather like the creepy feeling of being spooked.

Larry doesn't really like either. He once walked down the middle of Center Street at night by himself so he could stay in the street lights because he was so scared after seeing Dracula.

The only movie that I have ever watched that actually woke me up because of a bad dream was this one:

Scary movies I remember watching as a kid:
  • Watcher in the Woods
  • Cujo
  • Lady in White
  • When a Stranger Calls (the original)
Classic Scary Movies (that I've seen):
  • Psycho
  • The Shining
  • Wait until Dark
  • Room with a View
  • North by Northwest
  • Charade
  • Jaws
  • Arachnophobia
  • Rosemary's Baby
  • Cape Fear
  • Silence of the Lamb
  • Exorcist
  • Halloween
  • Carrie
  • Night of the Living Dead
  • Blair Witch Project
  • Misery
Really dumb scary movies:
  • The Grudge
  • The Ring
  • When a Stranger Calls (remake)
  • What Lies Beneath
This Halloween I'm going to watch the Changeling (the original) and I'm excited cause I hear it is good. What do ya'll think about my list? Am I forgetting any?

Advanced Client

Today my personal trainer told me I was an advanced client. Wanna see what that looks like?

Yeah, pretty much like that.

I can do exercises like you wouldn't believe. I mean lunges while he throws a medicine ball at me and stuff. I don't mean to brag but it's hard to be humble when you are an advanced client.

Deal Breakers or Turn Offs?

One time I played a game based on deal breakers.

The premise:
Each person gets a turn picking the outrageous deal breaker and then every one gets to answer the following question:

"Would you marry the man (or woman) of your dreams? He or She is perfect in every way... except...
ENTER DEAL BREAKER (be as creative and crazy as you want)?"

It was fun to hear the answers and the reasons. The following is a list of deal breakers or turn offs that I have actually heard (not the from the game).

(DO NOT ASSUME THESE ARE MINE)
  • Is not temple worthy
  • Does not like sports enough to go to events or watch them on TV
  • Doesn't want kids
  • SLOB
  • Racist
  • Says the "F" word
  • Bad breath
  • Didn't go on a mission
  • Video game fanatic
  • Wears a necklace
  • Doesn't have a job
  • Interrupter
  • Talks only about himself
  • Hairy back
  • Eats less than me
  • Too theatrical
  • Uses British words when he has never been to England
  • Hates Macs
  • Makes fun of girls sports
  • Doesn't open the door
  • Has man hands (this is for the boys - remember the Seinfeld episode?)
  • Won't let my high school A Cappella group sing at the wedding (did you see the Office last week?)
So... do you guys have any more to add? Which of these are deal breakers and which are simply turn offs?

Eating for one

On Monday I posted my status on Twitter and Facebook the following:

"Katy is getting sick of eating out and is wondering how to cook meals for one person."

I also posted on this blog and this blog.

This is the response I got from facebook plus a few people sent me private messages.

Lets just say that people really want to help me with this goal. Last night I was invited over for dinner here (oh sorry Holli's blog is private - too bad for you). Megan has been emailing all kinds of ideas and is willing to go shopping with me and help me prepare the meals.

So... I got to thinking about what a mooch I am. Remember my big road trip that turned into a blind dating trip? That was me begging people to let me stay with them and then asking them to find me some love.

I started dreaming about how maybe I should put a calendar on my blog and every night someone could have me over for dinner - like the missionaries except I could swear and tell dirty jokes instead of giving a spiritual thought (totally kidding, I don't do either of those things).

DON'T WORRY - I'm not going to ask you to feed me people. I just like to dream about it.

Good news: I just figured out how to make my own ringtones and put them on my treo. I made "Sugar Sugar" and "I'm a Pepper" into some friggin sweet ringtones

Bad news: I don't know how to add the audio files to this post so you can hear them.

CALL ME - so I can enjoy my new ringtones. I might not answer cause I want to listen to my ringer.
