Labor Day Weekend - Las Vegas Baby

Who can say that they've ridden in a silver beetle bug from Vegas to Provo?

Well this salamander can - we named her Vega (we think she is a girl). The Bean needed a new Tiger Salamander so I reluctantly volunteered to drive this one up from the Exotic Pet Store in Las Vegas - it saved us $41.

I was worried about Vega all the way home - trying to make sure she didn't get too hot. I sang "Viva Las Vega" to help her - I think she survived only because of my singing.

While I was in Las Vegas I got to spend some time with my favorite family from the mission - they now live in Las Vegas in case that wasn't obvious.

See how cute these girls are? The oldest one here was blessed on my first Sunday in San Antonio - yup it was a little while ago.

One of the reasons I love this family is because it was in their home that I realized I still had my agency as a missionary and it was up to me if I wanted to drink Dr. Pepper or not. My trainer no longer got to decide for me! They took great care of me and I spent Christmas with them both years I was in Texas. It was fun to see them again.

The rest of my trip was spent with these guys ...

I don't like Vega. But she might get along with the Black Racer Snakes in my backyard!!

The thought of you singing "Viva Las Vegas" to a salamanda made my heart smile. I wish I could have been there to see (hear?) it. :)

I look really good in a swimsuit. Please post lots of pictures of me in a swimsuit. The world needs more. That was a fun trip and the babies seemed to get along fine. I'm glad i didn't have to ride with Vega. No offense but I hate vega.

I think I might have stepped on Vega's brother in Park City over the weekend. I didn't sing. Sorry.

Wouldn't singing "So Long, Farewell" (Sound of Music) been more appropriate for Vega? Once Vega got to the Bean Museum, wouldn't she/he be killed and stuffed like the rest of them there animals? =) Lucky Vega to cruise around with you.
